Our Curriculum

Springfield Primary School caters for the ‘full academic, emotional, social and moral development of all its pupils,’ [National Curriculum 2014]. We believe in a rich curriculum that engages all learners to do their very best.

English, Maths and Science are the heart of the curriculum and take up the larger part of teaching time. We are determined that all children succeed and reach high standards. We firmly believe that “any child is capable of anything.” History, Geography, R.E., Art, Music and PE are taught through an integrated topic approach.

Cornerstones Curriculum

From September 2015, we introduced the Cornerstones Curriculum

At Springfield School the most important underlying principle of a curriculum is to help children learn, and deepen their understanding and skills. We believe that a successful curriculum is brought to life by high quality teaching; inspirational learning activities and opportunities to listen and plan for the developing interests and motivations of children. This is why we have made the decision to follow the Cornerstones Primary Curriculum.
